Customer Service Representative

The role of the Customer Service Representative is to work directly with our customers in the precious metals & jewelry industries, providing timely, professional and comprehensive responses to a variety of business related challenges related to a full-service customer service department. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Enters sales orders for accounts as assigned by Customer Service Manager
  • Answers incoming sales calls, e-mails or faxes requesting product information and/or quotations
  • Prepares quotations with correct pricing and enters necessary documentation into ERP system
  • Investigates customer’s request for returned goods and/or credit and issues RMA’s 
  • Advises customers of relevant product modifications/updates when revisions are made to existing product
  • Assists the customer in all aspects of customer satisfaction; from placing an order to delivery
  • Manages assigned accounts and develops relationships with purchasing agents
  • Documents information and shares w/coworkers’ precise details for a cross-training environment
  • Serves as primary interface with customers who seek answers to orders and delivery expectations 
  • Inputs detailed data into the system and completes necessary transactions to get orders processed and confirmed
  • Professionally handles complaints and brings resolution to problems
  • Uses good judgment in managing daily interaction with customers
  • Acknowledges unresolved customer dilemmas and elevates to the manager when appropriate
  • Works within a team environment to resolve ongoing issues

Skills & Abilities:

  • College degree preferred with a minimum of 3 – 5 years of customer service experience
  • Knowledge of the precious metals, semi-finished mill products, and jewelry items
  • Experience with Syteline or similar ERP customer service systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of software, Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
