Manufacturing Engineer- Wire and Tubing

The Manufacturing Engineer- Wire and Tubing will support the Leach Garner’s wire and tube manufacturing operations using proven methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean, FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, etc.) to lead projects to improve cost, quality, and lead time. The Manufacturing Engineer will utilize process knowledge to advise senior management on expansion and modernization initiatives.

Specific Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Responsibilities for this position include developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing systems and processes, utilizing knowledge of mechanical engineering, lean principles, product requirements, data analysis, materials and parts, tooling and equipment capabilities, and quality control standards.
  • Through data analysis will support decision making, equipment capabilities, and material processing effects with metals while ensuring targeted quality and efficiency requirements.
  • Will provide technical expertise in the application of material and processing procedures required to achieve defined customer specifications or in the resolution of product-related problems.


  • A Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science and 3-5 years of Experience or 5-10 Years of equivalent process experience. 
  • Experience in wire and/or tube drawing and forming techniques.  
  • Experience in draw die design preferred. 
  • Experience with extrusion systems preferred. 
  • Experience in Lean and Six Sigma desirable. 
  • Software expertise: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Project.
